The New Endless Cycle of Resource Wars

As an aging Vietnam veteran the foolishness of war is a subject I’m deeply interested in. Why do supposedly civilized people take up war as a cause and then teach their young men and women to become highly trained combatant killers? Can’t so called “leaders” realize that many young men and women will never fully recover from their war experience even if they survive it?

Some of the most vicious wars in history were fought without anyone really understanding what they were fighting for. For example, WW1 was responsible for the deaths of about 20 million military and civilian persons. To this day there is no clear purpose that historians can describe as to exactly why the “war to end all wars” was fought.

Obama Needs to Rethink Increasing Forces in Afghanistan

President elect Obama has on numerous occasions stated that America should have a troop draw down in Iraq and focus more troop strength and effort on Afghanistan. Let’s hope that Obama rethinks Afghanistan policy long before he takes office next January 20th. Increasing forces in Afghanistan will likely do little except to cost America more billions in war expenses and a greater loss of lives.

The following is from Juan Cole’s excellent article titled “Obama is Saying the Wrong Things About Afghanistan”.

==========================================

Before he jumps into Afghanistan with both feet, Obama would be well advised to consult with another group of officers. They are the veterans of the Russian campaign in Afghanistan. Russian officers caution that Afghans cannot be conquered, as the Soviets attempted to do in the 1980s with nearly twice as many troops as NATO and the U.S. now have in the country, and with three times the number of Afghan troops as Karzai can deploy.

Double Bottom Chart Pattern

by George Kissi

What is a Double Bottom Chart Pattern?

A Double Bottom is a reversal pattern that happens at the height of a downward slope and can indicate the commencing of an up trend.

How Do I Recognize a Double Bottom Chart Pattern?

A double bottom chart pattern takes place in four steps: 1. A new low for price is reached 2. The price finds support and rises to a new high, creating a new resistance point 3. The price commences to move back down to support, but then rises again towards resistance 4. The price breaks through resistance, building an upward trend

What Does a Double Bottom Chart Pattern Mean?

A double bottom chart pattern can signify a tug of war between buyers and sellers. As sellers attempt to push the contract, buyers resist the down trend. When once again the bottom of the pattern isn’t broken, the sellers begin to back off, leading the buyers to dominate and send the price up.

Fox News Adjusts to Obama Administration

Fox News has long been considered by many political minded observers as more of a mouth piece for the RNC than a balanced news organization. Now that Obama and the Democrats have won the election a shift in news coverage may be underway.

Watch this video where some serious questions are raised about how Sarah Palin conducted herself during the McCain campaign and see how you see it. McCain staffers are wasting no time in throwing Palin under the Straight Talk Express bus and Fox is jumping on the story. Are the highly critical stories true or is it that the McCain staffers are using Sarah Palin as a scapegoat for a poorly managed losing campaign?

Could it be that Fox is adjusting its coverage to an Obama term as President for at least the next four years or is it that senior McCain campaign staffers still have some influence and pull over at Fox News?
